The Film Fest Gent is currently accepting entries for its 2017 edition.

Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the festival.

  • Submission format: zone free bluray or DVD, secured online screener
  • Competitive: Yes
  • Entry fees: Yes
  • Feature-length or short films;
  • Fiction, documentary or animation;
  • The festival presents films in DCP, 35mm, HDCam, Blu-Ray and Digital Betacam (PAL or NTSC).
  • The festival will present its films in at least a Belgian or Benelux première.


With its focus on film music, the Film Fest Gent has its own unique place in international festivals. The festival presents some 100 features and 50 shorts from all across the world. A range of different film programs are showcased, attracting over 100,000 viewers each year.

Its thematic International Competition focuses on the impact of music on film. Every year, the festival also organizes film music concerts, giving composers of film scores the platform they deserve.

Telefilm Canada recognizes selection in the Ghent International Film Festival as part of its Success Index and for application to its International Marketing Programme.
