About

Visions du Réel hosts one of the most important film industry events in Europe, offering a wide range of networking and project building opportunities for international film professionals. VdR–Industry selects and promotes films throughout the various stages of their process, giving filmmakers and producers a platform to present their projects to decision-makers and potential partners. The selection process will run to the end of February 2022. To participate with a project, apply to one of the three main categories.

  • VdR–Pitching is Visions du Réel’s international co-production forum for creative documentaries in development.
  • VdR–Work in Progress presents films in their finishing stage. Through a presentation for film professionals (festival representatives, funds supporting post-production, post-production facilities, distributors, TV buyers, etc.) and specific individual meetings, project holders may find suitable partners to go into and/or finalize post-production, to look for distribution, festivals, etc.
  • VdR–Rough Cut Lab is reserved to creative documentaries in their finishing stage (rough cuts) that will be presented to industry professionals to get specific feedback and advice. The idea is to support filmmakers in this phase of editing. * There is no registration or participation fee for this activity.

Please refer to the VDR – INDUSTRY website to learn more about the different categories, entry regulations, activities, and selection fees.

Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection of a feature-length project in development in the VdR- Industry for application to its International Promotion Program.
