Tampere Film Festival is currently accepting short films for its upcoming 2025 edition.

ABOUT
The Tampere Film Festival is one of the oldest and the most prominent independent short film festivals in Europe. 30 000 professionals and audience members attend the event. The festival presents several awards including the “Best film award” in the international competition with a cash prize of €5,000. The Festival is one of 60 festivals around the world recognized by the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Best short in the international competition will qualify for a submission into the Academy’s Oscars Best Short Film Award category.
In 2024, APHASIE (M. Dalpé), DINOSAURIA, WE (M.C. L’Écuyer), L’ÉTÉ DES CHALEURS (M.P. Dupuis), MADELEINE (R. Sancinetti), and SHOKOUK: A COSMICOMEDY IN FOUR ACTS (R. Akhbari, F. Kalmenson) were presented in Official Competition. SAINT-SACRIFICE (J.C. Leblanc), UWD (M. Verreault, B. Poupart), and WILDMEN OF THE GREATER TORONTO AREA (S. MacPherson) were selected among the 24 films in the Generation XYZ section.
Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection in the Festival and may provide assistance through the International Promotion Program.
