Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the Festival.

ABOUT

The aim of Visions du Réel, International Film Festival Nyon, is to present bold and original films that embody, through their formal and aesthetic choices, contemporary non fiction cinema in all its diversity: experimental films, essays, personal diaries, family films, current affairs and social issues, historical investigations, and films with classic or fragmented narrative approaches. The festival programs three international competitive sections as well as non-competitive sections. 

Canadian films selected since 2022: BILLY, OKURIMONO, NINE EASY DANCES, THE MAN I LEFT BEHIND, Rojek, CAITI BLUES, MOTHER SAIGON and WHILE THE GREEN GRASS GROWS (Switzerland/Canada) which won the Grand Jury Prize. 

The Doc Outlook International Market complements the festival and fosters contacts for the funding and promotion of films, as well as for networking and for acquiring film rights.  More than 1000 participants from 50 countries (producers, buyers, decision makers, etc.) attend the market.  

Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection of a feature-length film in the Festival for application to its International Promotion Program.
