Call for entries

(For Feature Length Fiction Film Producers)

ACE (Ateliers du Cinéma Européen) was founded in Paris (France) in 1993 as a selective training programme and development centre for experienced independent European producers. Since its creation, ACE Producers now has close to 200 members from more than 45 countries.

Since 2009, ACE has opened its doors to non-European Union feature film producers (the ACE Mundus producers). ACE combines three main types of activities: training via workshops and one-day seminars on specific topics; advice regarding the development of fiction feature film projects and; networking activities (product/industry placement organized at an international level for industry members within the framework of major festivals and markets).
Telefilm Canada’s agreement with ACE will allow for two Canadian producers to participate in ACE Programme 2017, one producer from the English market and one producer from the French market. This agreement covers – for both producers – the following costs: Canada/Prague round-trip airfare, tuition costs, accommodation and subsistence expenses in Europe.

Information and registration process 

Preselection of producers by Telefilm Canada

The preselection process will be conducted by Telefilm Canada based on the following criteria:

• Number of produced feature films that were theatrically released;
• Participation of produced feature films at major Canadian festivals and awards won;
• Participation of produced feature films at major international festivals and awards won;
• If the project in development received funding from Telefilm Canada;
• Producer’s track record with Telefilm Canada.

Telefilm Canada will recommend up to five (5) producers per linguistic market to ACE.

Selection of two (2) Canadian producers by ACE

ACE will then select two (2) Canadian producers, one (1) producer from the English market (original script in English) and one (1) producer from the French market (original script in French), through its selection committee comprised of external readers, industry experts and ACE representatives.

ACE will announce its shortlist in July and the final selection of the two (2) participating Canadian producers in September 2017.
