ABOUT
Founded by Robert Redford in 1985, the Sundance Film Festival is organized by the Sundance Institute, a non-profit organization that actively advances the work of independent storytellers in film. The festival showcases 60 shorts under three competitive categories: fiction, non-fiction and animation. Winners of the categories qualify for the Oscars®.
Each year, Canada stands out with an average selection of 3 to 5 short films and regularly wins awards.
Telefilm Canada recognizes selection of a short film in the Festival for applications to its International Promotion Program.
