(Feature length films, narrative and documentary)

Telefilm Canada will supervise the submissions and coordinate three (3) consolidated shipments of Canadian films to the Venice Film Festival, the Official Mostra, and its two parallel sections, Venice Days and the Critics’ Week.

74th Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica

The Festival sections open to Canadian productions are: Venezia 73 (International Competition), Out of Competition, and Orizzonti, also a competitive section.

 14th Venice Days (Giornate degli Autori)

Parallel to, and independent from the Venice Film Festival, Venice Days presents 12 features that are eligible for a cash award of €20,000, to be split equally between the filmmaker and the film’s international distributor (or, in the absence of which, the majority producer).

32th Venice Critics’ Week (Settimana Internazionale Della Critica)

A competitive section organized by the National Syndicate of Italian Critics that presents eight debut-features.

 

“LUIGI DE LAURENTIIS” AWARD FOR A DEBUT FILM

Each debut feature film selected in one of the sections of the Venice Festival (The Official Mostra, Venice Days or The Critics’ week) is eligible for the “Luigi De Laurentiis” Venice Award, a USD 100,000 cash award divided between the director and producer.
