Program Overview
The Production Program supports Canadian audiovisual production companies that are looking to finance Canadian feature-length films at the production or post-production stage.

Who can apply
Canadian audiovisual production companies who:
- Have their head office in Canada.
- Carry out their activities in Canada.

Key dates
IT support is only available on business days until 5:00 pm EST.
- Projects may be submitted only once per fiscal year, except for projects produced in French for which at least 60% of the financial structure is confirmed.
- Producers whose projects can be submitted in more than one opening period must select the one that best meets the needs of their project.
- Projects produced in languages other than French and English must be submitted during the opening periods applicable to English-language projects.
- Projects submitted to the Indigenous Stream must be submitted during the opening period applicable to low budget English-language projects.
- Applications for post-productions and co-productions where the Canadian share is more than 30%, must be submitted during the main opening periods applicable to each category (low or high budget, English or French).

As part of Telefilm’s commitment to support Official Language Minority Community (OLMC) projects across its programs, a new declaration titled Declaration Regarding OLMC-Produced Projects is now available. This declaration defines what is considered an OLMC-produced project for each language market and will allow Telefilm to monitor its OLMC commitments.

Please read our How to apply page for more information on the application process.
Provided that the applications submitted are complete, we will aim to make funding decisions on production financing requests within 80 business days of the closing date to apply to the program. Please read our Service Charter for more information on our commitment to service.
Applications must be submitted through Dialogue.
