Call for Entries

(Feature and short films, all genres)

 

The San Francisco International Film Festival is currently accepting applications for its upcoming edition.

Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the Festival.

  • Entry fees: Yes

 

Eligibility
  • Entries must have been completed on or after January 1, 2018;
  • Feature films must be over 50 minutes and shorts must under 50 minutes;
  • All genres are accepted (narrative, documentary, animation);
  • All non-English language entries must have English subtitles.

 

The San Francisco International Film Festival, the longest-running film festival in the Americas, screens 160 films to more than 70 000 movie-lovers.

First features by new filmmakers are eligible for the New Directors Prize that comes with USD $10,000. Additional cash awards are also handed out to winning films in the sections for narrative films, documentaries, and shorts.

The winner of the Best Short is eligible to the Oscars competition (live action and animated), as long as it has not previously been broadcasted on television or the Internet.

Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection in the Festival for application to its International Marketing Programme.
