Pan-Canadian Consultation
Telefilm Canada relaunched its Pan-Canadian consultation with members of the industry on the Success Index, the backbone of its program architecture, which informed the optimization of its financing programs such as Development and Talent to Watch.
Taking place from May to June 2020, these consultations were transparent, inclusive and held in both Official Languages. Consultations took the form of an online survey, virtual townhalls and meetings with established working groups.
Consultation process
Telefilm heard from a wide variety of creators and industry members from all regions, including established filmmakers and emerging talent, and both existing and aspiring Telefilm partners. Telefilm continues to pay special attention to the needs of groups that are under-represented (Racialized Persons, LGBTQ2+, Indigenous, OLMC, women, and persons with disabilities).
Opinion polls
Between September 18 and 27, 2020, Telefilm gathered the views of stakeholders through three short online surveys.
- Talent to Watch Program Survey, open to former participants only
- Development Program Survey, including the method of allocating selective and automatic funding
- Success Index Survey
