Equity, diversity and inclusivity
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are priorities for Telefilm Canada and a guiding force in its actions. Telefilm is committed to promoting these values not only through its funding programs, but also within the organization to ensure that these priorities are reflected in the workplace.
Internal EDI committee
An internal EDI committee was created to help the organization adopt concrete measures related to EDI themes in areas as varied as recruitment, internal communications, organizational policies, employee benefits and the integration of new members joining our staff.
A bilingual workplace
Our work environment is bilingual and encourages staff members to develop their ability to work in both official languages.
A language designation of positions
We assign a “language designation” to positions based on:
- The type of services provided to the public.
- The language of work.
- The language skills that each individual in a position must have to perform their duties.
All staff members who are hired, promoted or transferred are subject to a language evaluation based on the position’s language designation. Depending on the requirements of the position, the language evaluation will be based on three skills:
- Reading comprehension
- Written expression
- Oral expression
