Sixteen documentaries supported by Telefilm Canada and the Rogers Group of Funds
Montréal, 24 April 2019—Telefilm Canada, in partnership with the Rogers Group of Funds, announces the 16 English- and French-language documentary feature films supported by the Theatrical Feature-Length Documentary Program, with a funding total of more than $1.6 million.
The goal of the Theatrical Documentary Program is to increase Canadian audiences for Canadian feature films, by encouraging the production of high-calibre feature-length documentaries. Since 2007, Telefilm Canada and the Rogers Group of Funds have joined forces to underwrite this Program with the intent to support projects that will lead to success.

In 1980, Rogers launched its first fund to support Canada’s independent producers. Since then, more than $560 million has been committed to over 2200 television and feature film projects through four different funding programs, all designed to meet the needs of Canada’s independent production community.
