Telefilm Canada Provides an Update on the Employee Investigation
January 4, 2021 – Following an announcement earlier last summer that Telefilm Canada had launched an investigation into the allegations of misconduct against one of its employees, Telefilm would like to provide the following update:
Based on a thorough interview and analysis processes undertaken by the firm le Cabinet RH in conjunction with independent intercultural specialist Dr. Myrna Lashley, it was concluded that no harassment, discrimination or misconduct had occurred, pursuant to applicable law.
Due to privacy and confidentiality concerns, Telefilm is unable to provide further details.
Following this process, Telefilm has put into place an improved, streamlined complaints procedure, and has adjusted internal practices in the Project Financing team to ensure more equitable and transparent decision-making.
We would like to thank clients, partners, and other members of the industry for their frank comments throughout this process, as well as throughout the ongoing consultations.
