New coproduction agreement between Canada and France
This new agreement provides a renewed framework for audiovisual coproductions produced between the two countries. Canada and France have been coproduction partners for several decades. Each year, France remains a leading coproduction partner for Canada. Both countries are also members of Eurimages.
Audiovisual coproductions governed by a treaty allows Canadian producers to obtain financial and creative participation from foreign and Canadian sources and to promote Canadian talent on the international scene.
For more information, please consult the new agreement and relevant documentation on Telefilm Canada’s coproduction with France webpage.
Coproduction projects whose preliminary recommendation letter was issued in accordance with one of the previous coproduction agreements with France, must still comply with the provisions of those agreements to obtain a final recommendation of coproduction status:
- Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the French Republic Concerning Cinematographic Relations
- Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the French Republic on Television Relations
