New talent joins the Feature film team

By attracting the most skilled individuals on the market, Telefilm ensures that it has high-quality expertise to support the industry at every stage, from conception to distribution of feature films.

Shelley MacDougall (Halifax office)
Feature Film Executive, Indigenous Content and Development
Start date: June 2, 2025
With more than 25 years of experience in film and television, Shelley is known for her passion and dedication to screen-based media. Shelley joined Telefilm in June of 2025 in a new role, created with the aim of ensuring greater agency and oversight in our investments in Indigenous Cinema. She previously spent over eight years at the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) as a production executive, where over the years she was responsible for multiple formats including documentary, scripted, children’s, and Indigenous language programming. Prior to broadcasting she worked in the Vancouver industry in production, development, and business affairs. Shelley leads Indigenous content at Telefilm and is based out of Halifax. She has Red River Métis/Scottish-Norwegian ancestry and is a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation.

Andrew Williamson (Vancouver office)
Regional Feature Film Executive – English Market – Western Region
Start date: August 5, 2025
Andrew Williamson is a seasoned producer and industry leader with extensive experience across the Canadian film and television sectors. He has served on the boards of Producing for the Planet, Langara College, and the CMPA – BC Producers Branch, reflecting his broad perspective on industry development and sectoral policy. Andrew has collaborated with partners including the NFB, CBC, Bell Media, Knowledge Network, ARTE/ZDF and NBCUniversal. He has produced award-winning documentaries and feature films, while mentoring emerging filmmakers to help grow the next generation of storytellers. Beyond the screen industry, he advances climate action through advocacy and community engagement.
