Telefilm Canada is pleased to welcome Adriana Chartrand as Lead, Indigenous Initiatives and Content Analyst in the Cultural Portfolio Management team

Adriana Chartrand (she/her/elle) joins the Telefilm Canada team as Lead, Indigenous Initiatives and Content Analyst for a five-year term. She will act as a resource person and representative for Indigenous communities in business relations and development, replacing Adam Garnet Jones who left Telefilm earlier this year.

Adriana, who is Red River Métis(Michif)/mixed settler, comes to Telefilm from imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival where she was the Institute Manager, responsible for developing, administering, and overseeing annual professional development labs and activities for Indigenous filmmakers.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies and Women’s Studies from the University of Manitoba, a MA, Cinema Arts from the University of Toronto, as well as a Ontario Graduate Certificate in Arts Administration and Cultural Management at Humber College, Adriana also previously filled roles at the Toronto International Film Festival.

In her role at Telefilm, she will report to the National Director, Feature Films – English Market.

Adriana begins June 28, 2021 and will be based in Toronto.
