Telefilm Canada Welcomes Monica Flores as Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Communications
Monica Flores is named Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Communications at Telefilm Canada. She will start her new position on Monday, April 8, and will be based out of the Montreal office.
In her new role, Ms. Flores will contribute to the implementation of Telefilm’s new strategic plan and lead a team committed to promoting the audiovisual sector to a variety of audiences.
As a seasoned public affairs and communications leader, Ms. Flores has led impactful corporate reputation initiatives in Canada and internationally for over two decades. Her management experience as well as cross-cultural and linguistic capabilities have brought her to work in over 10 countries spanning the healthcare, telecommunications, technology, fashion and arts industries. Most recently, she led her own consulting firm, where she advised clients in communications, branding, public affairs and stakeholder relations.
She actively contributes to the community in many areas, previously serving as Secretary General of the International Women’s Forum (Montreal Chapter), and co-founding the Latin American Executive Women in Canada Network. Additionally, Ms. Flores is a member of boards and executive committees with McGill University, Université de Montréal, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Foundation, École des hautes études commerciales (HEC) Foundation and Montreal Children’s Hospital. In 2023, she was selected as a finalist for the Réseau des femmes d’affaires du Québec (RFAQ) Woman involved in her community award.
Ms. Flores holds an M.B.A. from the École des hautes études commerciales (HEC) and a B.A. from McGill University. She is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Directors Education Program and the Non-For-Profit Governance Rotman Essentials Program at the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), where she was the recipient of the Diversity and RBC Foundation scholarships.
