Call for Entries: For the Official Language Activities workshops “MULTIPLATFORM, MULTI-SUCCESS!” for Anglophones in Quebec

16 November 2009

Montréal, November 16, 2009 – Telefilm Canada is today issuing a call for applications for its Multiplatform, Multi-success! training workshop, to be held in Montreal on January 18, 19 and 20, 2010.

The three-day workshop is intended for English-language creators living and working in Quebec and has been specifically designed as a tool for exploring the creation and exploitation of content in a multiplatform environment. The initiative is intended for producers, directors and writers working in feature film and/or television seeking to move into multiplatform, as well as for producers, developers, project managers, and writers working in interactive media seeking to perfect their understanding of the issues they face today.

Multiplatform, Multi-success! is in keeping with the multi-year Official Languages Activities (OLA) action plan that Telefilm drafted in 2007 within the framework of its Interdepartmental Partnerships with Official Languages Communities (IPOLC) agreement with Heritage Canada. Through this initiative, Telefilm intends to enhance the industry’s skills and maximize the potential to reach audiences, as well as increase the number of creators from official-language minority communities.

The deadline for submitting an application is Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 5 p.m. (EST). Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

For eligibility criteria, and to download the application form for this professional development initiative, please visit the website at www.telefilm.ca. Workshops for French-language creators will be offered in February 2010 and information on this initiative will be available on the website in the coming weeks.
