Telefilm Canada announces new details to the Talent to Watch Program

Telefilm Canada would like to inform its clients that the Talent to Watch Program will be accepting new applications in the fall of 2021 for fiscal 2022-2023. The program guidelines are currently being reviewed as part of Telefilm’s program optimization process and will be published later this summer. For the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Telefilm will be focusing resources on supporting Talent to Watch projects which were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Projects which have received Talent to Watch funding between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2021, are eligible to apply for an increase to the Telefilm contribution of their project, covering costs associated with the pandemic and enabling them to proceed to production and/or completion of their project.

Key dates:

June 10, 2021 to July 9, 2021: Applicants must contact the Business Affairs Analyst in charge of their file to request a top-up.

Important information:

• The top-up is intended to cover reasonable additional expenses incurred by applicants in relation to their projects as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
• The amount of the top-up will depend on the number of requests and the eligible costs incurred or proposed to be incurred by the applicant for the project.
