Telefilm announces 28 Canadian companies attending Game Connection

08 March 2010

Montréal, March 8, 2010 – Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that 28 Canadian companies are attending the U.S. edition of Game Connection opening today in San Francisco. Held annually during the Game Developer Conference (GDC), Game Connection is an international marketplace for game designers, service providers and publishers looking to build business partnerships. Twenty of the participating Canadian companies have received financial support from Telefilm to attend the event.

“Attending Game Connection enables Canadian game industry companies to forge alliances with foreign partners, one of the keys to success in a highly competitive environment, where international development helps strengthen the industry’s capacity and ensure its viability,” said Sheila de La Varende, Director, National and International Business Development at Telefilm Canada. “By providing Canadian participants with opportunities for visibility and networking with American and international industry players, Telefilm helps the game industry achieve maximum business benefits.”

In addition to visibility under the Canada banner, Canadian Game Connection participants will benefit from a networking event organized by the Canadian Consulate in San Francisco in partnership with Telefilm Canada for some 300 people, mainly industry representatives.
