Telefilm Canada wins award of excellence for its 2007-2008 annual report
Montréal, December 9, 2009 – Telefilm Canada is proud to announce that it has received an Award of Excellence in Corporate Reporting for Small Federal Crown Corporations from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) for its 2007-2008 annual report. This is the second time the organization has been recognized by the CICA for the quality of its annual report since the Small Crown Corporation category was established in 2007.
“As a government entity devoted to the Canadian audiovisual industry, we take our role in terms of governance and reporting very seriously,” said Michel Roy, Chair of Telefilm’s Board of Directors. “Telefilm is committed to following best practices in corporate governance, and we have made great strides in recent years to further strengthen our processes in this regard. We are happy to see our efforts recognized by the CICA again this year,” he concluded.
Telefilm’s 2007-2008 annual report highlights the organization’s activities as measured against its corporate objectives of building audiences for Canadian audiovisual productions, building capacity in the industry and being a good administrator.
The Chartered Accountants of Canada Corporate Reporting Awards (CRA) is the only national awards program that recognizes excellence and best practices in corporate reporting. Now in its 58th year, the CRA presents awards for excellence in financial reporting, corporate governance disclosure, electronic disclosure and sustainable development reporting.
