The event honours women who are making a mark in the business world and contributing to the development of Quebec society

Montreal, October 18, 2012 – To the applause of more than 600 business people, Telefilm Canada’s Executive Director, Carolle Brabant, was honoured last night at the Réseau des Femmes d’affaires du Québec’s 12th annual Prix Femmes d’affaires du Québec awards gala. Ms. Brabant won in the Executive or Professional, Public or Parapublic organization category.

“I am honoured to be recognized for my work with this award, which, by extension, recognizes the work of my entire team at Telefilm,” said Carolle Brabant, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada. “I would also like to congratulate the eight other award recipients. The motivation for my work springs from our film industry’s outstanding creative talent and the quality content they produce, which allows us to fulfill our mission.”

Businesswomen from across Quebec submitted applications for the award. Applications in compliance with the terms of the competition were assessed by an independent selection committee, which then chose, on the basis of well-defined criteria, a shortlist of applications in each of nine categories. These files were then evaluated by an independent jury chaired by Nadine Léonard, Regional Vice-President – Greater Toronto Area for Pomerleau. The jury chose 27 finalists, ultimately selecting one award winner in each category.

The eight other award recipients are: Manon Barbeau (Wapikoni Mobile), Marie-Huguette Cormier (Mouvement Desjardins), Diane Girard (Cabinet Diane Girard), Nathalie Delisle (G-1 Sac), Danièle Henkel (Les Entreprises Danièle Henkel), Danielle Danault (Cardio Plein Air), Solange Fresneau (Tech Fab) and Caroline Néron (NÉRON INC).

This latest honour for Ms. Brabant follows on the Leadership Excellence Award she received earlier this year from Canadian Women In Communications, and her inclusion in The Hollywood Reporter’s list of the “13 Female Power-Players Who Rule the World.”
