Telefilm Canada’s General Admission Festivals Program supports 26 Canadian film festivals
Telefilm Canada announces its investment of $230,000 to support 26 Canadian film festivals through the General Admission Festivals Program.
This first intake of the General Admission Festivals Program, for festivals that start between October 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, provides streamlined funding to small and/or emerging film festivals aimed at the general public.

A total of 50 eligible applications were received in the first intake of this program. The decision-making process takes into account the promotion of Canadian content and talent, and Telefilm’s objective to fund an equitable and balanced portfolio in terms of regional representation and diversity of voices.
The second intake of this program will open from October 27 – 31, 2025, during which eligible festivals with start dates between April 1, 2026, and September 30, 2026, can apply.
