Canadian production companies can now submit coproduction projects to Eurimages—European Cinema Support Fund
Montreal, March 15, 2017—Following the announcement by the Minister of Canadian Heritage, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, that Canada has become the 38th member country in Eurimages, Telefilm Canada wishes to inform Canadian production companies with an eligible coproduction project that they now have access to Eurimages—European Cinema Support Fund.
“Our participation in Eurimages is pushing the market boundaries for Canadian content; this historic agreement opens up new channels for distribution, new platforms for promotion and new partners for creation,” said Carolle Brabant, Telefilm Canada’s Executive Director. “Ultimately, it’s a vote of confidence by our Eurimages partners for the quality of the talent we have here in Canada.”
Telefilm will represent our country on the Fund’s Board of Management, and will ensure Canada’s annual contribution to Eurimages through the additional parliamentary allocation announced by Canadian Heritage in March 2016.
