CineCoPro Conference enters its third round: Focus on Canada

04 April 2024

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN and the Bavarian Film Fund, FFF Bayern are continuing their successful partnership by welcoming a delegation of 20 producers from Canada to the third CineCoPro Conference as part of the 41st FILMFEST MÜNCHEN (June 28 – July 7, 2024) in Munich. Telefilm Canada and the Canadian Embassy in Berlin are partners of the 2024 edition of the conference.

“Since the introduction of the CineCoPro Award in 2019, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN has further underlined its commitment to international co-productions. With the first CineCoPro Conference 2022, which took place in cooperation with the British Film Institute and the Bavarian Film Fund, FFF Bayern, this was further emphasized by establishing a new industry platform. From now on, the focus will be on a different region or country each year. After Great Britain and Southeast Europe, we will now focus on Canada,” say Christoph Gröner, Festival Director and Julia Weigl, Artistic Co-Director of FILMFEST MÜNCHEN.

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN: A major platform for international co-productions

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN will once again be a platform for international co-productions in 2024. The CineCoPro Conference, initiated in 2022 with the support of the British Film Institute (BFI) and the Bavarian Film Fund, FFF Bayern, brought together a total of 40 British and German producers. Last year’s, second edition focused on Southeast Europe and once again featured pitching presentations, keynotes, panel discussions and networking events to facilitate creative collaborations between German and international producers.

CineCoPro Conference 2024 focuses on Canada

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN will feature a broad selection of Canadian films in its various international sections and competitions. The aim is to emphasize the diverse spectrum of Canadian filmmaking: from feature films to documentaries, in which new as well as established voices from different provinces of Canada are given a platform. In doing so, the CineCoPro Conference provides an opportunity for representatives of the German and Canadian film industries to network and inspire each other.

Around 40 selected co-producers from Germany and Canada will have the chance to engage in a creative discourse at the third edition of the FILMFEST MÜNCHEN CineCoPro Conference from July 1 to 4, 2024.

The FILMFEST MÜNCHEN CineCoPro Conference 2024 is supported by FFF Bayern, Telefilm Canada, the Canadian Embassy in Berlin and Creative Europe Desk München.
