COVID-19 Update (March 19, 2020)
Although our offices are closed for the time being, Telefilm remains committed to the success of the audiovisual industry and its creators. Our staff have been properly equipped to work remotely and they remain available. Daily operations continue without interruption while we close out the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
Telefilm Canada continues to review and process all funding applications as usual, with the exception of applications relating to overseas festivals or travel. These applications will resume review once the Government of Canada travel advisories have been lifted.
While we will continue to honour current commitments, we also understand that the current situation has and will continue to cause disruptions. In the short-term, we will respond to any changes in a supported project on a case by case basis. We’re there to support you.
Telefilm representatives are in daily contact with various partners and other stakeholders, as well as Canadian Heritage. An internal working group has been formed and we are developing a response plan that could include a range of measures to provide continued support for Canada’s screen-based industries during this challenging period, the details of which will be shared as quickly as possible.
We understand that this is a difficult time for all parties. We are working as quickly as we can to provide you with accurate, timely information.
Telefilm has compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions that can be consulted here and will be updated as additional queries arise.
