Fonds Francophone d’Aide au Développement Cinématographique: Results of 3rd call for projects

16 February 2012

Montréal, February 14, 2012 – Telefilm Canada, a partner in the Fonds Francophone d’Aide au Développement Cinématographique, is pleased to announce the projects selected by the jury following the third call for projects issued last September.

The objective of the Fonds Francophone d’Aide au Développement Cinématographique, initiated by a group of Francophone partners (Telefilm Canada, SODEC, Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles, Centre du cinéma et de l’image animée français, Film Fund Luxembourg, in partnership with Office fédéral de la Culture suisse), is to strengthen creative exchange in the area of French-language fiction feature films so as to foster projects with broad audience appeal. The Fund is open to fiction and animation feature-length projects involving at least one Canadian producer and one European producer, from Belgium, France, Luxembourg or Switzerland. Each project selected receives support covering 50% of its development costs, to a maximum of €40,000.

An independent jury, composed of partner agency representatives and industry professionals, convened on February 12 and selected the following three projects, from the 18 submitted:

  • Kokoro, by Vanja d’Alcantara, produced by Need Productions (Belgium) and Les Productions La Fête (Canada)
  • Le Mystère Trannoy, by Avril Tembouret and Vladimir Rodionoff, produced by A.S.A.P. Films (France) and Palomar Films (Canada)
  • L’Enfant de la lune, by Luciano Lepinay, produced by Denis Friedman Productions (France) and Media-Max (Canada)

The Fund is managed by the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur. For more information, visit the FIFF Website (www.fiff.be) or the partners’ Websites, or contact FIFF at (+32 (0) 81 24 12 36, fondsfrancophones@fiff.be).
