Canada out in force at the Shanghai International Film Festival with 17 films

Montreal, June 8, 2016 – Canada will be out in force at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival, which runs from June 11 to 19, 2016. A total of 17 Canadian films will make their way to Asia, including April and the Extraordinary World (Avril et le monde truqué), a minority coproduction with France and Belgium, which will be screened in official competition. Nitro Rush and The Space Between will have their world premieres in the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week and Focus Canada sections, respectively. Furthermore, Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan will be an official jury member.

Focus Canada is a part of the Festival’s International Panorama section. A news conference to announce the lineup of Canadian content to Chinese media outlets will be held on June 14.
