Carolle Brabant, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, receives a Canadian Women in Communications Leadership Excellence Award, Trailblazer Category

Montreal, January 17, 2012 − Canadian Women in Communications will bestow its 2012 Annual Awards during a gala event at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa on April 16, 2012.

Carolle Brabant is the recipient of the Leadership Excellence Award, Trailblazer Category. The first woman to serve as Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, Ms. Brabant has blazed new trails for women. During her more than 20 years at Telefilm, she has taken on major dossiers and participated in many technology-based projects, contributing enormously to Telefilm’s impact.

In December 2011, The Hollywood Reporter acknowledged the importance of Ms. Brabant’s contribution by naming her one of 13 Female Power-Players Who Rule the World as part of the trade publication’s annual Top 100 Power Women in Entertainment list.
