COVID-19 update: Telefilm Canada employees will work remotely until further notice

16 March 2020

At Telefilm Canada, the health and safety of our employees is paramount. As such, in line with Canada’s public health officials, and our own business continuity plan, we wish to inform all clients, partners, and suppliers that all Telefilm and CMFPA (Canada Media Fund Administration Program) employees in the Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Halifax offices will work remotely using established cloud-based services (such as Dialogue and Skype). Telefilm’s physical offices will therefore be closed starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice.

We are working to minimize any and all impacts that this may have on our operations. We ask that you contact your analyst or coordinator via email before sending any courier or postal deliveries so that we can direct your package appropriately and ensure its delivery is safeguarded. All in-person meetings will now be done via teleconference or will be rescheduled. As well, we ask that all payments be done by direct deposit, as much as possible.

The success of Canada’s screen-based industries and its creators is at the heart of Telefilm’s operations. We are closely monitoring the potential short and long-term impacts on our sector both domestically and internationally. Along with partners, associations, guilds, and industry stakeholders, we will work towards a course of action going forward.

In this vein, an internal working group has been established to focus on possible long-lasting repercussions and develop immediate actions.

The pan-Canadian industry consultations on the revised Success Index are postponed. Further details to follow.

Important changes will be communicated to clients as quickly as possible, and we encourage you to regularly check our website for updates.
