Industry Advisory – Roxane Girard appointed head of Telefilm Canada’s Television Business Unit

Montreal, September 8, 2009 – Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that Roxane Girard has been appointed Director of the Television Business Unit. Ms. Girard was previously Director of Television – French Market, a position she had held since April 2006. In that capacity, she was involved in setting up the television team in the Montréal office, improving services to producers, and maintaining good relations with the Canadian Television Fund.

Roxane Girard specializes in funding for enterprises and projects in the cultural industries sector, and possesses in-depth knowledge of the issues and realities of production and broadcasting in film and television. Before joining the television team at Telefilm, she served as General Manager, Enterprise Funding, at the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles du Québec (SODEC). She also sat on the board of directors and investment board for both the Fonds d’investissement de la culture et des communications (FICC) and the Financière des entreprises culturelles (FIDEC).
