Industry Advisory – Telefilm announces fiscal 2010-2011 application deadlines for development and production projects submitted to the Canada Feature Film Fund

Montréal, April 16, 2009 – Telefilm Canada has set submission deadlines for projects submitted to the Canada Feature Film Fund for fiscal 2010-2011. These deadlines apply to French-language development and production projects originating in all regions of the country and to English-language projects originating in Quebec. Decisions regarding the deadlines were made in the aim of facilitating and improving the process.

Development:

Fiscal 2010-2011 submission deadlines for French-language development projects originating in all regions of the country as well as English-language projects originating in Quebec are as follows:

• April 5, 2010 (maximum of three [3] projects per production company) (maximum of one [1] project for new production companies that have not previously been eligible)  For complete details, see Telefilm Canada’s Business Policies.
• August 16, 2010 (maximum of two [2] projects per production company) (maximum of one [1] project for new production companies that have not previously been eligible) For complete details, see Telefilm Canada’s Business Policies.

In the event a project is rejected at the development phase, it may only be resubmitted at a subsequent phase.

REMINDER: the same rules apply for the August 17, 2009 development deadline, the final submission deadline for fiscal 2009-2010.

Production:

Fiscal 2010-2011 submission deadlines for French-language production projects originating in all regions of the country as well as English-language projects originating in Quebec (with requests of 1,5M or less), are as follows:

• September 14, 2009
• February 1,  2010

In the event that a project is refused at the production phase, it may be resubmitted at a later production deadline (except in cases where projects are ranked in the bottom third for French language productions).
