Leading Change: Cannes seminar with Christa Dickenson and Anna Serner

Please join Christa Dickenson, Executive Director & CEO of Telefilm Canada, and Anna Serner, CEO of the Swedish Film Institute, for an online seminar at the Cannes Marché du Film on Tuesday July 13, 4:00-5:00 pm EST.

Both Christa Dickenson and Anna Serner share a unique position: they are CEO’s of their country’s leading audiovisual institutes. They work to finance, develop and promote an artform that is ever changing, in an industry that is both learning and recovering.

This online discussion between two leaders delve into the work they have done as well as looking at the work ahead: from changes within their organizations, to intersectionality, to opportunities and obstacles in a post-pandemic landscape.

Anna Serner
CEO, the Swedish Film Institute
Anna Serner has been a driving force behind several gender equality initiatives such as ”50/50 by 2020” at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, the “50/50 by 2020 – Global Reach” seminar at the 2017 Cannes Film Market, and the seminar ”Take Two: Next moves for #MeToo” at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. With a total of five Ministers of Culture from different countries attending, that event marked a meaningful shift at an international level for equality in the film industry. Anna Serner has also appeared as a panellist and keynote speaker at several international film festivals, including Gothenburg, Cannes, Berlin and Toronto.

Christa has over three decades of experience spanning broadcast television, technology, telecommunications and interactive digital media, having worked at CTV, CPAC, Rogers and Interactive Ontario. She possesses an un-paralleled talent for change management coupled with a strong business acumen. With brand advocacy expertise honed over many years, Christa is a highly effective screen-based industries advocate and spokesperson. In addition to a professional background spanning both the creative and business sides of the broadcast, technology, telecommunications and interactive digital media industries, Christa has a BAH and Masters of Fine Arts in Film Studies.
