List of feature films for eligibility purposes

28 March 2012

Telefilm Canada 2012-2013 Development Program

To help its clients determine whether they are eligible for the new Development Program, which came into effect on April 1, 2012, Telefilm Canada is publishing today a list of Canadian feature films produced in the past five years (i.e., whose first theatrical release in Canada was no earlier than January 1, 2007) that meet the criteria set forth in the 2012-2013 Development Program Guidelines.

This list includes over 300 titles as of March 9, 2012. It does not include documentaries since they are not eligible for development funding. The list is available in the Useful Tools section of our 2012-2013 Development Program Web page.

As a reminder, Telefilm recently redesigned its Development Program and issued its Guidelines for 2012-2013 in an industry advisory on February 29, 2012. Among the changes in the Program’s eligibility criteria, it should be noted that applicants must now be film production companies that have produced at least one Canadian fictional feature film (minimum 75 minutes) that was theatrically released in Canada in the last five years, as indicated by the Motion Picture Theatre Associations of Canada (MPTAC) statistics.

The list will be included with an online tool to help clients determine whether they are eligible for the Development Program by answering basic questions related to the 2012-2013 Guidelines. This tool will also be available in the Useful Tools section of our 2012-2013 Development Program Web page starting at the beginning of April.
