Message from Christa Dickenson on her first day at Telefilm Canada

Dear clients and members of the industry,

Today marks the beginning of the first year of my five-year term at Telefilm Canada. I am delighted to join an organization whose ambition is to see bigger. Supporting the audiovisual industry and promoting its creative talents is an inspiring mission, and I’m pleased to contribute to its achievement.

Together with our Executive Committee, I can’t wait to pursue the important work undertaken by our teams: achieving a balanced and representative funding portfolio that encompasses gender parity and diversity. We will also continue to foster the discoverability and promotion of emerging talent while at the same time improving our support to mid-career producers and encouraging the export of our successes. Finally, we will continue to be committed to supporting a healthy, thriving ecosystem based on a culture of mutual respect, free of all forms of harrassment.

I’m honoured to be given this front-row seat to watching canadian talent flourish on the world’s stage. It’s an incredible privilege and responsibility.
