Production Program Updates (March 27)

As we continue to monitor the impact that COVID-19 is having on our industry, Telefilm Canada would like to advise clients of the following:

Production program –For projects with budget under $2.5M

Telefilm is extending the deadline for all applications until April 30, 2020. Projects must be submitted before 9:00 pm (EST).
Telefilm encourages producers to submit their packages in advance of the deadline, as soon as they are ready.
Your Regional Feature Film Executives remain available should you have any questions.

Production program – Indigenous Stream

Telefilm is extending the deadline for all applications until April 30, 2020. Projects must be submitted before 9:00 pm (EST).

The jury will now meet virtually to select projects.

Production program – English Market – For projects with budget over $2.5M

Telefilm is aware that some national-level applications may be impacted or delayed by COVID-19. We will continually assess the delays that the industry is experiencing in relation to this budget level, so that we can anticipate demand and evaluate between submitted and pending applications.
For projects facing delays caused by COVID-19, please contact your National Feature Film Executive to advise of the status and potential timeline of your project.
Telefilm maintains a rolling deadline for English projects with a budget over $2.5M.

Production program – French Market – For projects with budget over $2.5M

For French Market projects with a budget over $2.5M, their schedule remains unchanged.

A reminder that for all applications, IT support is only available until 5:00 pm (EST).
