Professional Development Online Marketing and Multiplatform Strategies Workshop 2010-2011

Montreal – November 29, 2010 – In keeping with Telefilm Canada’s objectives regarding professional development, Telefilm is committed to helping the industry prepare for the transition to a digital universe. It will be offering training workshops to give directors, producers and distributors a greater understanding of multiplatform content marketing and distribution so that they may profit from the new possibilities it creates.

This workshop is aimed at developing marketing knowledge and an understanding of the issues related to distributing feature films in the multiplatform age. It will focus on the possibilities offered by online marketing and social networks, digital content creation and distribution strategies and the multiplatform approach.

Topics to be covered in the workshops include:

  • Overview of Web culture and behaviour of Web users in the age of social networks;
  • Online promotional strategies, defining goals and measurement indicators; and
  • Web analytics tools and continuous optimization.

Applicants who are interested in attending one of these workshops must complete the registration form and e-mail it to the contact person in the Telefilm office corresponding to their place of business.

English-language workshops will be held in:

Vancouver – January 17, 2011
Toronto – February 4, 2011
Halifax – February 7, 2011
Montreal – February 22, 2011

French-language workshop will be held in:

Montreal – February 23, 2011

Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to their eligibility and to the maximum number of participants in each city. Priority will be given to professionals who are primarily active in film production.
