Telefilm Canada Congratulates the Honourable James Moore on the Unveiling of Canada’s Policy on Audiovisual Treaty Coproduction and Launch of Online Consultation on its implementation with Canadians

Montreal – February 4, 2011 – Today, the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, unveiled Canada’s Policy on Audiovisual Treaty Coproduction and, with it, an online consultation on its implementation with Canadians.

“We congratulate Minister Moore and the Department of Canadian Heritage for this initiative,” said Carolle Brabant, Telefilm Canada’s Executive Director. “Coproduction has become increasingly important to the vitality of Canada’s audiovisual industry, as demonstrated by the numerous critically and commercially successful productions.”

“As the administrator of coproduction treaties on behalf of the Department, Telefilm welcomes this consultation,” she added.

The Policy, implementation tools, and discussion questions are posted on the consultation website.
