Two new obligatory forms for Telefilm Canada clients and updates to Accounting and Reporting Requirements

27 September 2016

Montreal, September 27, 2016 – Telefilm Canada announces that its clients will now be required to complete two new forms and that its Accounting and Reporting Requirements have been updated.

The first form is called Authorization/Revocation of Applicant’s Representative with Regards to Telefilm. It will have to be completed by applicants who wish to authorize a representative to speak on their behalf or to obtain information about them from Telefilm.

The second form is the Questionnaire on the Independence of the Independent Auditor. It is required for all clients who signed a contract as of April 1, 2016 and who must submit a final certified cost statement. It applies to independent auditors responsible for certifying cost reports for projects funded by Telefilm. It is used to identify and resolve threats to independence. This independence requirement is not new; it is part of the Code of Ethics of Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) and we have been referring to it in our Accounting and Reporting Requirements.

Furthermore, Telefilm has just updated its Business Policies – Accounting and Reporting Requirements. These updated Requirements apply to all projects whose agreements were signed as of April 1, 2016.
