Marielle Poupelin appointed Director of International Promotion
March 20, 2018 – Telefilm Canada is announcing that Marielle Poupelin has been appointed Director, International Promotion.
Ms. Poupelin’s career as well as vision make her the ideal person to guide the international promotion of Canadian productions, an area of activity that stands as one of Telefilm’s key pillars.
After obtaining a master’s degree in administration from the Université d’Angers (France), Ms. Poupelin began her career in film production. In 1990, she left France for Canada, where she continued working in film and TV production.
In 2004, she joined Telefilm Canada as an investment analyst, working with the team responsible for selecting feature film projects eligible for funding. In 2010, Ms. Poupelin was appointed Deputy Director, Coproduction. In this capacity, she managed the team responsible for assessing coproduction projects in film and television submitted by Canadian producers, and also worked closely with the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Film and Video Policy and Programs department.
Ms. Poupelin has served as Interim Director, International Promotion, since 2016.
