New Development Program for 2012-2013 – Tool for determining eligibility now available
Montreal, April 10, 2012 – Telefilm Canada would like to inform its clients that its website now features a tool to determine eligibility for the new Development Program.
The tool is designed to help you determine your eligibility for the program by answering basic questions in line with the 2012-2013 guidelines.
The Tool for Determining Eligibility can be found in the Useful Tools section of the 2012-2013 Development Program website. The same section also provides a list of Canadian feature films produced over the past five years, that is, films theatrically released since January 1, 2007 and that meet the criteria set out in the program guidelines.
You may submit an application under this program as of April 30, 2012. However, you may also begin entering your application information in eTelefilm starting now.
Also note that you may submit your project or project portfolio at any time during Telefilm’s fiscal year. To do so, you must use the eTelefilm tool.
Telefilm recently revised its Development Program, and the 2012-2013 guidelines were presented on February 29, 2012 in an Industry Advisory. One of the changes to program eligibility criteria is that applicants must now be feature-film production companies having produced at least one Canadian fictional feature film (of at least 75 minutes’ length) theatrically released in Canada in the last five years according to the Motion Picture Theatre Associations of Canada (MPTAC).
