Nine Canadian films invited to the Busan International Film Festival
Montreal, September 10, 2012 – Telefilm Canada is proud to announce that Canadian cinema will be well represented at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, which will be held October 4 to 13, 2012. During a press conference that took place today, the Festival, one of the most important in Asia, announced that nine Canadian films are invited, including three coproductions:
World Cinema Section
- Antiviral directed by Brandon Cronenberg
- Blood Pressure directed by Sean Garrity – world premiere
- Laurence Anyways directed by Xavier Dolan
- Still directed by Michael McGowan – international premiere
- The Good Lie directed by Shawn Linden – world premiere
Flash Forward Section (competitive section for a first or second-time filmmaker from outside Asia)
- La Cicatrice directed by Jimmy Larouche – world premiere
Special Program Section
- In Darkness directed by Agnieszka Holland (coproduction Germany, Poland, Canada) – Korean premiere
Wide Angle Section
- The End of Time directed by Peter Mettler (coproduction Switzerland, Canada) – asian premiere
New Currents Section
- Kayan directed by Maryam Najafi (coproduction Canada, Lebanon) – world premiere
