Official statement from G. Grant Machum, Acting Chair of the Board, on the recent appointments to the Board of Telefilm Canada

“As announced by the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Robert Spickler, from Montreal, joins Telefilm Canada as Chair. In addition, Karen A. Horcher, CFA, CPA, CGA, from Vancouver, B.C., joins as our newest member.

“With his years of leadership and extensive knowledge of cultural organizations in Quebec and Canada, including at the Centre du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui, Canada Council for the Arts, Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde among others, I am confident that Mr. Spickler will bring a fresh perspective to Telefilm, as our industry is called to adapt in all areas in response to this time of rapid change.

“It has been a pleasure to work as Acting Chair for the past 18 months and I look forward to collaborating with my new Board colleagues. On behalf of my fellow Board members, I warmly welcome Mr. Spickler and Ms. Horcher to Telefilm.
