Official statement from Telefilm Canada on the passing of Alain Gourd

Following the passing of Alain Gourd, Telefilm Canada offers its most sincere condolences to his wife, Jacinthe Théberge, to his children and grandchildren, as well as to his family and friends.

Alain Gourd, who worked in the audiovisual industry for more than 40 years, shared his enthusiasm with all those who knew him. His brilliant career left its mark on the history of Canadian content. We would especially like to highlight his generous contribution to the launch, in October 2012, of the first Symposium on the Promotion of Canadian Films and Television Programs, a project that was close to his heart. His expertise, commitment and vast knowledge of the audiovisual environment will forever be a part of our memories.

Passion, innovation, daring: these three words truly convey the spirit of this greatly talented man.
