Reminder – Industry Advisory: Registering Canadian films for the Cannes Film Festival Selection Sessions held in Montréal
Change to registration procedure as of 2011
Montreal – January 6, 2010 – The call for entry to submit Canadian feature films at the Montréal screening selection sessions for the Cannes Film Festival will be released next week. Telefilm Canada wishes to inform companies intending to submit their films that it is now obligatory for them to register via eTelefilm, our simple, efficient and secure online service.
We strongly recommend that companies wishing to register for the Canadian film selection sessions in Montréal for the above-mentioned festival open a permanent eTelefilm account as of today. Telefilm will send you a personal PIN within five (5) working days of receipt of the duly completed eTelefilm application forms. Please click on the following link for details regarding the registration procedure.
By opening a permanent account, you will be able to use the same film application form for several festivals (Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Pusan, Venice) because a single application form can be copied for each festival. This will allow you to save valuable time and resources.
Clients may also open a temporary eTelefilm account that does not require a PIN. However, temporary accounts do not offer clients the option of using one registration form for multiple festivals.
More than 1000 clients are already using eTelefilm to submit applications, check the status of their projects and obtain payments via direct deposit under the Canada Feature Film Fund or the Canada Media Fund. Telefilm Canada recently extended the services available through its eTelefilm portal to cover its activities at markets and festivals, thereby ensuring smooth services for all its clients.
