Telefilm announces opening of Theatrical Documentary Program for fiscal year 2023-2024

Telefilm Canada is pleased to inform Canadian production companies of the upcoming opening dates of the Theatrical Documentary Program for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Key dates:

• For production applications, including the Indigenous Stream: March 20 to April 3, 2023

• For post-production applications: March 20 to June 30, 2023

The guidelines, essential information guide and other supporting documents for the 2023-2024 fiscal year will be available in February.

Under this program, Telefilm aims to support feature-length documentaries that engage Canadian and international audiences through theatrical releases and that have a cultural impact and foster public engagement, while contributing to Canada’s cultural heritage.
