Telefilm Canada announces closing date for applications regarding new lower budget productions (budgets of less than $2.5 million) for 2014-2015

Montreal, June 11, 2014—Since the opening date for lower budget feature film applications, the demand has surpassed expectations. To date, requests far exceed the budget available and a significant portion of regional funding resources has been committed. Therefore the Atlantic, Ontario/Nunavut, Quebec and Western offices of Telefilm will no longer be accepting new funding requests for production and post-production of English-language, lower budget productions (budgets of less than $2.5 million) for the remainder of the 2014-2015 fiscal year, as of June 27, 2014 (5:00 p.m. local time).

We encourage you to remain in contact with your Regional Feature Film Executive regarding any lower budget project applications anticipated for next fiscal year.

The opening date for 2015-2016 applications and any related information will be communicated later in the fiscal year.
