Telefilm Canada announces closing date for new English-language regional production and low budget programs for 2012-2013

Montreal, June 22, 2012 – This has proven to be a very strong year for regional English-language feature film applications. As such, Telefilm Canada has committed the majority of its 2012-2013 English-language regional budgets, with its support of a high number of projects across the country, for the following regional programs: Canada Feature Film Fund – Production and Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance.

As a result, Telefilm’s Atlantic, Ontario/Nunavut and Western regional offices will no longer be accepting new English-language Production and Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance applications for the remainder of the 2012-2013 fiscal year, effective June 29, 2012 (5:00 PM local time).

For Quebec, the same closing date applies for new English-language Production applications (the closing date for Low Budget was June 13, 2012). Telefilm’s regional offices will accept all completed applications (with the exception of Low Budget in Quebec), submitted on or before June 29, 2012.

For greater certainty, the Alternative Distribution program remains open for applications until further notice.

The opening date for 2013-2014 applications and related information will be communicated later in the fiscal.
