Telefilm Canada announces regional closing date for new English-language development, production, low budget and alternative distribution programs for 2011-2012

Montreal, August 30, 2011 – This has proven to be a strong year for regional English-language feature film applications. As such, Telefilm Canada has committed the majority of its 2011-2012 English-language regional budgets, with its support of a high number of projects across the country, for the following regional programs: Canada Feature Film Fund – Development, Production, Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance and Alternative Distribution.

As a result, Telefilm’s Atlantic, Ontario/Nunavut and Western regional offices will no longer be accepting new English-language Development, Production, Low Budget Independent Feature Film Assistance and Alternative Distribution applications for the remainder of the 2011-2012 fiscal year, effective September 2, 2011 (5 PM local time). Telefilm’s regional offices will accept all completed applications, submitted on or before September 2, 2011.

The opening date for 2012-2013 applications and related information will be communicated later in the fiscal.
