Telefilm Canada announces that Roxane Girard will serve as Director, Business Affairs and Certification, on an interim basis
Telefilm Canada announces that Roxane Girard, currently Director, Administration of the Canada Media Fund (CMF) Programs, will serve as Director, Business Affairs and Certification, for the next months. Ms. Girard has nearly 20 years’ experience in the Canadian film and television industry.
She joined the organization in April 2006 when the new service agreement came into effect between Telefilm Canada and the Canadian Television Fund (now known as the CMF). She first served as Director, French Market, of the Television Business Unit (TBU), and then as National Director of the TBU. Previously, Ms. Girard acted as General Manager, Enterprise Funding, at the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles du Québec (SODEC). In more than a decade with SODEC, Ms. Girard gained in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the cultural sector, particularly film and television.
Ms. Girard is a chartered accountant and MBA graduate of HEC Montréal (École des Hautes Études commerciales de Montréal).
We would also like to thank Dave Forget for his excellent work as a member of the organization since 2001. We are confident that he will put his talent and extensive knowledge of our industry to full use for the Directors Guild of Canada and be an ally in our mission to promote Canadian cinema and talent at home and abroad.
